To let the trademark rights holders better register and use their ".SHANGBIAO" (dot trademark in Chinese) domain names and protect their trademark-related interests, ".SHANGBIAO" Domain Registry has decided that as of January 8, 2015, the minimum registration year of ".SHANGBIAO" domain names will be changed, and the provisions affected by the change will be revised as follows:

Any domain name that has been successfully registered by producing the trademark registration documents (or the trademark certificates) will be registered for a 10-year period at first. One year after the registration, the domain name holder may apply to renew the registration period, but not to exceed 10 years.

Any domain name that has been successfully registered by producing the trademark application documents (or trademark acceptance notice) will be registered for a one-year period, during which the domain name is in a locked state (in which the domain name cannot be resolved, renewed, nor can any change in registration information, change of registrant, or inter-registrar transfer be permitted). If after the expiration the domain name holder wants to renew the domain name, each extension shall be one year long if its application is approved, and the premise of such extension is that the trademark application shall be deemed not having been considered invalid or rejected yet. When the applicant's trademark obtains a registration document from the appointed intellectual property administrative authority and sends it to the domain registry by way of the registration service provider/agency for examination and approval, the domain name will get out of the locked state. The registrant should also satisfy the registration period required for the domain name for which it wants to register by means of the aforementioned trademark application documents. Now the maximum renew period and user rights shall be as specified for the domain name successfully registered by means of the aforementioned trademark documents;

Starting from February 1, 2015, any application for a domain name that does not meet the registration period requirement will not be approved.

Moreover, to any domain name that has been successfully registered by producing the trademark registration documents during the sunrise or priority registration periods, the registered name holder is recommended to choose to renew 10 years or according to his/her needs.
